Born in Guatemala, H. J. Chacón grew up in Toronto and has lived in Madrid and Ottawa. From a tender age, he showed an interest in story telling and seeing the world.

His writing is influenced by the world around him, be it the magic of Ireland, the hustle and bustle of Toronto, or the tranquillity of Northern Spain. His inspiration is life.
