Hi, all,
Sorry I have not been in touch in a while. I have been wrestling with my web site, tyring to get my blog posts to appear on the mobile version... but the more I tried to figure out what was going on, the more frustrated I became. It wasn't until this evening that I was finally able get the full posts to appear on the mobile site. The joys of setting up a web site!
Onto my writing...
Back in September I began a writing workshop at Ryerson. I was required to submit approximately 1000 words every two weeks on any genre of my choice. I wrote a piece called Communion about a man who's grown up in a county under siege. My class loved the story and wanted to know more and more. As a result, I have decided that the current story will be only one point of view (POV) out of three. I still need to write the two new POVs. I will work on those over the next few weeks and months. I have an idea as to who the characters will be and what their story arcs will be about.
This is my last week of the workshop and I think I have learned a great deal. It's great to see a piece of writing take shape and a character get a life of his own.
My peers have been excellent with their feedback and with their insight. It's also been great to see their pieces evolved as the class provided feedback. I will likely do another one of these workshops.
As for the title of this post...
Back in September, I submitted a piece called "The Next One" to Grey Matter Press for consideration in their anthology of horror stories inspired by music. It's been quite a few weeks of waiting and finally tomorrow I find out the outcome. I made it past the first round of elimination and I am hoping to get good news tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.
That's it for now. I promise not to let two months go by before my next post.
